zirconia has excellent properties such as corrosion resistance, good thermal stability, high refractive index, and good thermal shock resistance. It is one of the emerging materials that have developed rapidly in recent years. Zirconia can be used to prepare a variety of electronic ceramic parts, including mobile phone backplanes, ceramic cores, sensors, smart wear, etc., especially with the advent of the 5G era, the relevant market space is extremely broad. Zirconia can be divided into chemical zirconia and electrofused zirconia according to different production processes. Compared with chemical zirconia, electrofused zirconia has the advantages of energy saving and low production cost. Through the bag dust removal device, the electric melting method can basically recover the silicon element in the zircon sand in the form of microsilica, and the resource utilization is high. At present, the distribution of global zirconium resource reserves is highly concentrated. Australia and South Africa are the two countries with zirconium resource reserves in the world, accounting for more than 80% of the global total reserves, while China's zirconium resources only account for 0.8 of the world, so domestic related industries rely on imports.
At this stage, the downstream industries of fused zirconia mainly include refractory materials, pigment for ceramic glaze, advanced ceramics, nuclear-grade zirconium materials and other industries. Zirconium refractories are mainly used in key parts of glass kilns and steel kilns. In the future, with the upgrading of kiln technology, the utilization rate of zirconium refractories will be further improved, and the utilization rate of zirconium refractories will be expanded to cement kilns and other high-temperature industrial kilns. New applications come from dental implants, mobile phone backplanes, 5G base station filters, zirconium-based amorphous alloys and other fields, and China has become the global consumer market for fused zirconia.
